I work on how governments respond to AI: supporting adoption, enabling infrastructure investment, and managing risks.
I currently lead a team coordinating the Australian Treasury’s advice on AI and data centre policy. My experience spans national AI governance, public-sector adoption and assurance, infrastructure policy, and financial system reform.
I am an economist and lawyer with more than a decade of experience across economic, regulatory and technology policy.
Since 2023, I have helped shape the Australian Government’s approach to AI across three connected areas: governing its use, putting it into practice, and building the infrastructure that supports it.
I lead teams, advise ministers and senior executives, and bring together perspectives from government, industry, researchers and civil society. Alongside my policy work, I build software and experiment with AI applications, giving me practical insight into the technology’s capabilities and limitations.
Australian Treasury
Established Treasury’s AI and data centres team and now lead its work coordinating advice on adoption, investment and infrastructure, bringing an economic perspective to the government’s approach to AI.
Department of Industry, Science and Resources
Led development of the Australian Government’s approach to AI infrastructure, including the “Build smart infrastructure” action in the National AI Plan and work on national data centre principles.

Led policy development and public consultation on proposed mandatory guardrails for high-risk AI, drawing on more than 300 submissions from industry, researchers, civil society and the public.
AI in Government Taskforce
Co-led development of Australia’s first whole-of-government AI policy and assurance framework, covering around 100 federal agencies and more than 150,000 staff.
Australian Treasury and Productivity Commission
Earlier work included designing policy and legislation for the cyclone reinsurance pool, co-authoring Australia’s first strategic plan for the payments system, and researching remote area tax concessions and land use regulation.
Built a Python-based AI tool to summarise and query large document collections, piloted across Treasury teams in 2023. Later oversaw AI summarisation supporting the national consultation on mandatory AI guardrails.
Built an application that generates narrated and illustrated stories in real time, exploring how AI models can support interactive experiences.
Created and delivered a seminar series explaining AI developments and their policy implications to policy teams and senior executives.
I serve as Treasurer of The Boîte, a Victorian multicultural music organisation, supporting its financial oversight, governance and long-term sustainability.
